01 / UNDERSTAND THE SYSTEM

Split & cassette systems in context.

A split system connects an indoor unit and an outdoor unit using refrigerant pipework. Different indoor styles suit different layouts and ceiling conditions.

Choose the indoor format around the room, ceiling and maintenance access—not appearance alone.

Wall-mounted

A common choice for individual rooms, with accessible filters and straightforward room control.

Cassette & ducted

Ceiling solutions can distribute air across a space or through ductwork, but require suitable ceiling and access provisions.

Floor-standing

Useful where the layout suits a floor-positioned indoor unit and its airflow path can remain clear.

02 / SCOPE & CONDITION

What we look at.

AreaWhat mattersWhy it matters
Indoor unitAirflow, cooling coil, fan and drainageIndoor water leakage does not always mean a refrigerant leak.
Outdoor unitCondenser airflow, compressor and fan operationMaintain the model-specific clearances and access.
ConnectionsRefrigerant pipes, insulation and electrical supplyCheck the entire connection route during replacement planning.

Work that can be included

  • Filter, coil and drainage servicing
  • Cooling and refrigerant circuit checks
  • Indoor and outdoor component repairs
  • Unit replacement and installation

Define the scope before work starts.

Parts, quantities, access, shutdowns and reinstatement are confirmed against your site and equipment. Additional defects or specialist works are discussed separately.

Prepare a clearer enquiry

03 / HOW THE WORK PROGRESSES

A clear route from enquiry to completion.

  1. 01

    Identify the unit

Record type, model and room location.

  2. 02

    Check the installation

Review airflow, drainage, pipes and outdoor conditions.

  3. 03

    Service, repair or replace

Agree the action appropriate to the equipment condition.

  4. 04

    Check room operation

Confirm controls, airflow and drainage after the work.

04 / COMMON QUESTIONS

A little more clarity.

Which indoor unit type should I choose?

Room layout, ceiling space, airflow distribution and maintenance access matter as much as appearance. We can discuss options after reviewing your space.

Is a cassette a different cooling technology from a wall split?

The indoor format is different. Both may use direct-expansion refrigeration; the exact outdoor arrangement depends on the model.

Is the outdoor unit supposed to blow warm air?

In cooling mode it rejects heat taken from indoors, so warm discharge air is normal. Unusual operation still requires assessment.
