01 / UNDERSTAND THE SYSTEM
Ventilation replaces or removes air; air conditioning primarily controls temperature. A comfortable building needs both to be considered together.
A room can feel cool and still need better ventilation. Air supply, extract and replacement air should be considered together.
Bring outdoor air into occupied spaces through a planned arrangement suitable for the building.
Remove air from areas with odours, moisture or process requirements, with replacement air considered.
Ducts, fittings, grilles and dampers influence airflow, noise and access for cleaning.

02 / SCOPE & CONDITION
| Area | What matters | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Poor airflow | Fan duty, duct resistance and obstructions | A fan cannot be selected from duct diameter alone. |
| Noise or vibration | Fan condition, mounting and air velocity | The source should be identified before replacing equipment. |
| Condensation | Air temperature, humidity and insulation | Outdoor-air treatment and vapour control may be relevant. |
Parts, quantities, access, shutdowns and reinstatement are confirmed against your site and equipment. Additional defects or specialist works are discussed separately.
Prepare a clearer enquiry03 / HOW THE WORK PROGRESSES
Identify occupancy, use and the required air movement.
Review intake, discharge, duct routing and access.
Carry out agreed fan, duct and accessory works.
Check operation and airflow where included in the scope.
04 / COMMON QUESTIONS
Many room split units mainly recirculate indoor air. Fresh-air provision requires a suitable ventilation arrangement; it should not be assumed from cooling alone.
Not automatically. Some models allow a limited fresh-air connection, but the actual installation and ventilation provision must be checked.
Only if the complete system supports it. Replacement air, duct resistance and discharge arrangements all matter.
