01 / UNDERSTAND THE SYSTEM

Pumps & motors in context.

Pumps circulate water through chillers, coils and heat-rejection equipment. Noise, vibration, leakage or unstable flow can point to mechanical, hydraulic or electrical issues.

Noise and vibration are symptoms. Bearing condition, alignment, hydraulic duty and the motor all deserve attention.

Pump assembly

The casing, impeller, shaft, bearings and seals each have a role in circulation and containment.

Motor & coupling

Motor condition, alignment and the connection to the pump affect mechanical performance.

Drive & operating duty

Where installed, a variable-speed drive changes motor speed. Settings should match the pump and system requirements.

02 / SCOPE & CONDITION

What we look at.

AreaWhat mattersWhy it matters
Noise or vibrationBearings, alignment, mounting and hydraulic conditionsReplacing bearings alone may not address the underlying cause.
LeakageSeal, gasket and joint conditionIdentify the leakage point before deciding which materials to replace.
Low or unstable flowSystem resistance, valves, strainers and controlsPump condition is only one part of the diagnosis.

Work that can be included

  • Pump and motor condition assessment
  • Bearing, seal and gasket replacement
  • Motor repair and workshop coordination
  • Reassembly, alignment and operational checks

Define the scope before work starts.

Parts, quantities, access, shutdowns and reinstatement are confirmed against your site and equipment. Additional defects or specialist works are discussed separately.

Prepare a clearer enquiry

03 / HOW THE WORK PROGRESSES

A clear route from enquiry to completion.

  1. 01

    Inspect & identify

Record exact equipment and component details.

  2. 02

    Plan the shutdown

Agree isolation, dismantling access and reinstatement.

  3. 03

    Repair & reassemble

Replace confirmed parts and complete agreed mechanical work.

  4. 04

    Align & check

Verify relevant alignment, leakage and operating observations.

04 / COMMON QUESTIONS

A little more clarity.

Can bearing size be confirmed from motor power?

No. Bearing selection must be verified from the existing bearing, exact equipment documentation or inspection. Motor and pump bearings can be different.

Can pump bearing size be selected from motor kW?

No. Confirm the bearing from the original component or exact equipment documentation. Pump and motor bearings may differ.

Should gaskets and seals be included?

Any disturbed sealing components should be assessed. The quantity and type depend on the actual assembly and dismantling scope.
